Welcome to Phil’s Grill, a locally owned and operated neighborhood burger joint. I get asked all the time how I came up with the idea and concept so if you have a few minutes...

I love a good burger and a cold beer. I always have. So, when I decided to open my own restaurant after 14 years in the industry, the first thing I thought was “I’ll open a burger joint!”

Now, if you love burgers like I do, you know that in New Orleans the best burgers are in the bars: Port of Call, Beach Corner, The Rivershack, The Bottom Line, Tucker’s Tavern and the list goes on. That’s what I wanted, a great bar room burger at a place where I could take my kids.

I also wanted to make sure that when you visit Phil’s Grill, you have a lot of fun. And man, can you have fun! Instead of giving you what I think are the best burger fixings, I left that up to you. We have 6 different burgers, 6 buns, 11 cheeses, 18 sauces, and 21 different toppings plus a burger of the month and a sauce of the month. There are literally over 1 million combinations, which means you could eat at Phil’s Grill every day for the next 2,739 days and never eat the same burger twice. Now that’s a lot of choice, and a lot of fun!

At Phil’s Grill, we also believe in freshness. We make the burgers in house everyday, then we cook them to order. We make almost every one of our sauces, slice our cheeses fresh, make our soups and chili from scratch and bring in the freshest vegetables daily.

The P B & Jake and the Jackson Square Burger are named for my two biggest fans, my sons Jackson and Jacob. They’re almost always in their Phil’s Grill t-shirts and hats telling anyone who will listen how great the burgers are. I have a tremendous support group of family and friends that have made my dream of opening a restaurant a reality.

My goal and my passion are for you to have the “best burger you ever built” and for my staff to have fun helping you. And they do! I want you to have a “burger experience” rather than just a burger and my staff makes that possible. I preach fun everyday, for them and for you.

My wife, Christina, and I love New Orleans and we want to help rebuild. I call it PHILanthropy. From our Artworks project displayed in the restaurant to local school, church, and community support, we do as much as we can to give back to the community that has given us so much.

Christina says I’m long winded so I’ll end it here!
See ya tomorrow!
